Everett is Three Weeks Old!

3 weeks old today!

Everett is three weeks old today! He is growing fast and filling out. I weighed him today and he was 6 lbs 7 1/2 oz., if I read the scale right. So he has gained almost a pound in a week! WOW! He now has chubby cheeks on his little face. He's a very sweet baby and only has a few cranky times during the day. He still eats every two hours at night, but I think I'm getting used to the interrupted sleep!

Everett is Two Weeks Old!

We just got back from E's 2 week doctor visit. Looks like everything is fine. He weighed 5 lbs 9 oz. and was 19+ inches long! He's healthy and doing great! :) Pics to follow soon! :)

Everett James has arrived!

We went for my 36 week appointment and the doc was trying to figure out if he was breech or not. I was already dialated 4 cm. He decided to do an ultrasound and discovered that he was breech and I had almost no amniotic fluid. He wouldn't even let us go home to pack a bag, we had to go admit into the hospital right away. So I went from my appointment at 2:30 to the hospital at 3:30, got in the operating room at 4:30 and Everett was delivered at 5:03 pm. I was completely terrified, but in the end the result was a beautiful, healthy baby. We are so thankful that this problem was caught. We had been praying that he'd turn right and not be breech, but it ended up saving his life! Thank the Lord.

34 weeks

This week Daddy was busy building a much needed closet shelving system in baby boy's closet! It came out really nice and helped me get his clothes and other items sorted and neatly organized. The whole top shelf is full of diapers which we are so thankful to have! Rumor has it that we'll go through them very quickly!

My Grandma helped me recover the cushions on the glide rocker and Ricky hung the blinds in the room, so it seems like the nursery is pretty much complete!

I went back to the doctor on February 26th. Baby boy's heartrate was 133 bpm which was good. I measured fine and everything seems to be moving along on track so far! I've had swollen ankles lately which is something new! I've been wearing crocks at work because my other shoes are way too tight! I have the feeling that he finally moved head down because it seems like I'm starting to feel feet in my ribs. I could be wrong though, I'm no expert at interpreting baby movement!! I go back to the doc again on March 10th.

33 Weeks

Here are a couple pictures from 33 weeks. Not too much to report this week, except we're still growing! Thank goodness for friends and their hand-me down maternity clothes. I've bought very little of my pregnancy wardrobe and hope to keep it that way until the end! I'm steadily outgrowing the clothes I have, but I hate to go out and buy new clothes that I'll only wear for the next few weeks! Call it cheap, I call it practical! :)

We had a baby shower from my work and got loaded down with diapers and wipes! It has been so fun getting ready to welcome our little one!

This is a picture of a diaper cake that the second grade teachers gave us. There were lots of goodies inside!

32 Weeks!

Here's a pic of me at 32 weeks pregnant. I had another doctor's visit this week. Everything still looks good. The baby's heartrate was 156 bpm which is very good. He was kicking a lot because he doesn't seem to like it when I'm sitting on the table in there. I measured good and my bp was good. YAY! This week I've been noticing that my feet are swollen. My shoes are snug these days! We had two baby showers last week. They were wonderful! We are amazed by all of the baby gear and clothes our baby boy now has!!! It is exciting as we get ready for him to be born and as the time until that happens gets closer!

31 Weeks

Here are some pics from the 31st week. Yes that is a double chin and chipmunk cheeks to match! Oh well, what can I do? I finally got a haircut so I'm less shaggy, thankfully!!! I've been sick with the worst head/chest cold EVER for the past week. I keep praying for relief from it, so hopefully that will happen soon if not immediately!! I'm excited to have two baby showers this week. One from the Tuesday morning Bible study group that I attend in the summer and the other one given by family and friends. We are so thankful to have such loving and caring friends and family members! My school is going to give us a diapers and wipes shower at the end of this month so hopefully by the end of February we'll have everything we could possibly need to welcome our baby boy into the world! We only have about 9 weeks left, give or take a week or two! WOW! Who knew time could fly by so fast?
